1. Single-turn absolute encoder and multi-turn absolute encoder
The numerical control spinning process rotates the single-turn absolute encoder to measure the scribe lines of the optical code disc in rotation to obtain the unique code. When the rotation exceeds 360 degrees, the code returns to the origin, so that the absolute code is not unique. The principle that such an encoder can only be used for measurements within a range of 360 degrees of rotation, called a single-turn absolute encoder.
If you want to measure the range of rotation over 360 degrees, you need to use a multi-turn absolute encoder.
The encoder manufacturer uses the principle of the watch gear mechanism. When the center code wheel rotates, another set of code wheels (or sets of gears, multiple sets of code disks) is driven by the gear, and the number of turns is increased on the basis of the single-turn coding. Encoding to expand the measuring range of the encoder, such an absolute encoder is called a multi-turn absolute encoder, which is also determined by mechanical position determination, and each position code is unique and does not need to be memorized.
Another advantage of the CNC spinning multi-turn encoder is that due to the large measuring range, the actual use is often more affluent, so it is not necessary to find a zero point during installation, and an intermediate position is used as a starting point, which greatly simplifies. Installation and debugging difficulty.
The numerically controlled spinning multi-turn absolute encoder has obvious advantages in length positioning and has been increasingly used in industrial control positioning.
2. Mechanical installation of CNC rotary spinning absolute rotary encoder:
CNC Spinning Abrasive encoders are equipped with high-speed end mounting, low-speed end mounting, and auxiliary mechanical mounting.
1) High-speed end installation: CNC spinning processing is installed on the shaft end of the power motor (or gear connection). The advantage of this method is high resolution. Since the multi-turn encoder has 4096 turns, the number of motor revolutions is within this range. Fully use the full range to improve the resolution. The disadvantage is that after moving the object through the reduction gear, there is gear gap error in the round trip, which is generally used for one-way high-precision control positioning, such as roll gap control of rolling steel. In addition, the encoder is directly mounted on the high-speed end, and the motor jitter must be small, otherwise the encoder may be damaged.
2) Low-speed end installation: After the CNC spinning process is installed on the reduction gear, such as the shaft end of the hoisting wire rope reel or the last section of the reduction gear shaft end, this method has no gear back-and-going clearance, and the measurement is relatively straightforward and the precision is high. This method generally measures long-distance positioning, such as various lifting equipment, feeding trolley positioning, and the like.
3) Auxiliary mechanical installation:
Commonly used are rack and pinion, chain belt, friction wheel, rope collecting machine and so on.
